Julian Laufs (*1993), is a scholar of International Relations and Security Studies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Malmö University in Sweden and is pursuing a MSc in Countering Organised Crime and Terrorism at University College London. In his research, he places a great focus on border management and risk assessment and has conducted studies on the implementation dynamics of EU border control policies as well as counterterrorism policy. Julian has also worked at the German Embassy in Washington D.C. and the Delegation of the European Union to Uganda. His other main research interests include International Relations Theory, International Security, the history of the Middle East and contemporary approaches to conflict- and terrorism-prevention.
