Karin Bretz, born in Koblenz in 1961,
fulfilled a childhood dream with this trip.
Owing to a genetic defect, „Amyotrophia Kugelberg-Welander“, her muscle strength diminishes with time. Walking requires a crutch and covering creater distances is only possible with a wheelchair.
Therefore this travel journal should encourage wheelchair users and other people with disabilities to determine their own lives and not be forced by their circumstances to impose limits.
Every journey begins with the first step and boundaries are there to explore and if necessary, to cross.
