In this volume, correspondence between two physicians is analyzed in terms of its relevance to medical and scientific history. A special focus is placed on howWagner enabled networking between academics in the early modern era. He was an example of an academic who was not an outstanding scholar or organizer in his own right, but who instead “undergirded” the ties between scholars.
