Stefanie Kettel studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Städelschule in Frankfurt with Hermann Nitsch and Simon Starling and was a guest student at the Escolar de Belas Artes in Belo Horizonte, Brasil. Among others she was the winner of the artgrant advancement prize and was awarded the six month Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral and TrAIN residental fellowship in London.
