The painter Soshana (1927–2015) succeeded early on in making a name for herself. However, owing to her Jewish origins, she sadly had to leave her homeland when she was still a child. She obtained her artistic training in London and New York, and later in Vienna. She travelled to the hot-spots of the Moderne movement and met Pablo Picasso in Paris. The book makes available the diaries of an emancipated artist for the first time.
