What has changed and what has remained the same in the holiday of all holidays, is described by the author in the charming short story collection ‚Celebrating Christmas through the Years.‘ Dorothea Blume, B.Sc. in Physics, lives once again in the city where she was born, Düsseldorf. Before she retired, she was vice-principal (and head of a ‚Studienseminar‘) at a secondary school. Previously R. G. Fischer has published ‚Were You in My Class Too?‘, poems and stories from her mother’s papers under the title ‚It Will Never Fade Away.‘, as well as contributions to the collections ‚Autoren-Werkstatt‘ numbers 26, 30 and 47. The illustrations with stick figures have become her trademark. The Christmas crèche shown on the title page was made by the author when she was fourteen years old.
