1874, in the Flint Hills town of Eureka, the Lakota Indian, Cain Wiyaka, is accused of the murder of a banker and the robbery of the latter’s bank. Defying the disapproval of her father and that of the citizens of Eureka, a young white woman takes it upon herself to secure the Indian’s acquittal.
