Since Stroud’s classic paper in 1968, appeals to transcendental arguments meet serious reservations. Still, such arguments play a prominent role in some approaches to moral philosophy. It has also been argued that transcendental reasoning is more promising in ethics than in theoretical contexts. In this volume, experts from different branches of philosophy enter a dialogue on the prospects of transcendental reasoning.
